2009 US Youth Soccer Florida State Cup

The 2009 US Youth Soccer Florida State Cup Finals (U13-U18) will be held May 16-17, 2009 at Pierson (Village) Park, Wellington.

ROSTER SIZE CHANGES FOR FLORIDA STATE CUP, SOUTHERN REGIONALS AND NCS PLAY

ROSTER SIZE CHANGES FOR FLORIDA STATE CUP, SOUTHERN REGIONALS AND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (NCS) PLAY

At the recent Region III Fall meeting, the Southern Regional Championship Committee adopted the recent National Championship change to expand the roster size for U16 teams to a maximum of 22. The Florida State Cup Committee has also approved the modification for our teams.

The maximum roster size for all U16-U19 teams seeking to play in the Florida State Cup and higher NCS play cannot exceed 22 at any given time during the seasonal year. Additionally, all age groups that have the 22-player roster limit (U16-U19) have the increased requirement of demonstrating a continuity of rosters between league and NCS play of maintaining a minimum of 11 players common to the roster of both competitions.

U13-U15 roster limitations remain unchanged with a maximum roster size of 18 allowed at any given time during the seasonal year with a continuity of rosters between league and NCS play of 9 players. The Florida State Cup rules and the online application for Florida State Cup will be available very soon and will reflect these recent changes.

FYSA State Cup Roster and USSF Academy Players Requirements

FYSA and US Youth Soccer Championships are following USSF’s requirement that players rostered as full-time Academy players will NOT be allowed to participate in US Youth National Championship Series events including our FYSA State Cup or other outside activities.

NOTICE: League Participation for State Cup, President�s Cup and Regional Cup Competition

FYSA does not now nor has it ever SPONSORED any competitive league in Florida (e.g. an FYSA state-wide league). FYSA has many affiliated leagues across the state, all of which are equal in meeting the requirements for National Championship Competition (State Cup) and Regional Cup qualification.

With the exception of the U19 age group, any team wishing to participate in State Cup or Regional Cup must compete in an FYSA SANCTIONED Inter-Club League with a minimum of three (3) other teams. Any FYSA league in Florida may be used to met this requirement. THERE IS NO REQUIRMENT THAT ANY TEAM MUST PARTICIPATE IN ANY PARTICULAR LEAGUE.
